University lecturer | Semnan University | Iran

Dr. Heidar Rahimi is a researcher in the Department of Pathobiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Semnan University, Iran. His work focuses on veterinary microbiology, zoonotic pathogens, and molecular epidemiology, with a strong emphasis on foodborne and milk-borne infectious agents. Across his research career, Dr. Rahimi has contributed significantly to the detection  characterization  and epidemiological understanding of key zoonotic pathogens, including Brucella melitensis, Brucella abortus, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Mycobacterium bovis  Leptospira spp  Coxiella burnetii and Francisella tularensis. With an expanding scholarly record Dr. Rahimi has accumulated over 118 citations, maintaining an h-index of 5 and an i10-index of 3, reflecting the relevance and visibility of his work within the global scientific community. His widely cited study on the nasal carriage and antibiotic resistance of Staphylococcus aureus in healthy ruminants remains a foundational contribution to veterinary microbiology. In recent years he has advanced molecular diagnostic science through the optimization of touch-down PCR techniques and the genomic detection of pathogens in milk and clinical samples supporting improved disease surveillance in both animal and human populations.Dr. Rahimi’s collaborations span multiple academic and clinical research teams across Iran contributing to high-impact studies published in journals such as Veterinary Medicine International Animal Biotechnology Scientific Reports and Infection Genetics and Evolution. His research has strengthened regional and national efforts to control zoonotic diseases  particularly brucellosis  bovine tuberculosis  and listeriosis.Through his dedication to molecular epidemiology and veterinary public health Dr. Rahimi has played an essential role in generating evidence that informs One Health initiativesb enhances food safety systems and supports the early detection and prevention of zoonotic threats. His work continues to contribute to safer livestock production improved diagnostic capacity and a deeper scientific understanding of infectious disease transmission.
