Dr. Nathu Ram Sarker holds a Ph.D. in Animal Husbandry from Haryana Agricultural University, India (2000), where he earned an impressive GPA of 3.89/4.00. He completed his M.Sc. in Animal Husbandry from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 1985 with 1st Class and 1st Position 🏅, following a B.Sc. A.H. (Hons) degree from the same institution in 1984 with 1st Class and 2nd Position. His academic journey began at Govt. BulBul College, where he passed his H.S.C. in Agriculture in 1979 with 1st Division.

With over three decades of distinguished service, Dr. Sarker has held several key positions in livestock research and development. He served as the Director General at the Ministry of Fisheries & Livestock (2018–2021), and previously as Chief Scientific Officer (2020–2021) and Principal Scientific Officer (2015–2020), making impactful contributions in research, policy, and administration across the sector.

Dr. Sarker has participated in more than 20 advanced training programs both at home and abroad, including prestigious institutions like the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in the Philippines and the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in India 🌍.
