Education
Prof. Dr. Ahed Zyoud holds a distinguished academic background in chemistry, beginning with a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Yarmouk University, Jordan. He pursued advanced studies at An-Najah National University, Palestine, where he completed his M.Sc. in Chemistry, focusing on blood lead levels among school children in Jenin District, for which he developed an innovative anodic stripping voltammetry method. His doctoral studies were carried out at An-Najah National University in collaboration with Bordeaux University, France, culminating in a Ph.D. in Chemistry . His dissertation centered on the synthesis and application of CdS-sensitized TiO2 nanoparticles for photo-degradation of organic contaminants in water, including the exploration of natural dye alternatives. This academic path shaped his specialization in analytical and inorganic chemistry, nanomaterials, and environmental applications, laying the foundation for his later contributions in solar-driven water purification, semiconductor electrode modification, and sustainable chemical technologies.

Prof. Dr. Ahed Zyoud has accumulated extensive academic and research experience spanning over two decades. He began as a lecturer at Arab American University and later at Al-Quds Open University, where he taught a wide range of chemistry courses and developed visual educational media.He has been affiliated with An-Najah National University, progressing from teaching assistant and lecturer to Assistant Professor, and ultimately Full Professor.He was appointed Head of the Chemistry Department, where he continues to lead academic and research initiatives. His teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including advanced courses in electroanalytical chemistry, modern instrumental analysis, and environmental chemistry. Beyond teaching, he has supervised and examined more than 60 master’s and doctoral theses.
