Dr. Leila Barati is an accomplished Iranian pediatrician and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Golestan University of Medical Sciences, where she has served since 2015. She works within the Faculty of Medicine and the Neonatal and Children’s Health Research Center, contributing extensively to child health research and clinical education. She holds a Special Degree in Pediatrics from Golestan University of Medical Sciences (2015), an MPH in Drug Addiction Survey from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2014), and a Primary Medical Degree from Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences (2003).Dr. Barati’s research expertise spans pediatrics, infectious diseases, childhood obesity, pediatric hypertension, enuresis, and neonatal health. Her scholarly work reflects a diverse and evolving research portfolio focused on improving diagnostic accuracy, therapeutic strategies, and preventive care in children. She has authored over 16 peer-reviewed publications, many appearing in reputable journals such as Frontiers in Pediatrics, Iranian Journal of Pediatrics, Journal of Comprehensive Pediatrics, and Future Virology. Her research contributions include novel findings on vitamin deficiencies in pediatric enuresis, electrolyte and inflammatory markers in febrile UTIs, COVID-19 clinical characteristics in children, and risk factors linking childhood obesity to hypertension.Dr. Barati has also led and collaborated on interdisciplinary studies, including the integration of artificial intelligence and optimization methods in hospital bed assignments, highlighting her ability to engage in cross-disciplinary innovation. Her role as a researcher at the Neonatal and Children’s Health Research Center reflects her long-term commitment to advancing pediatric care, improving clinical protocols, and addressing prevalent health challenges within Iran and globally.Her work has had a measurable societal impact, particularly in enhancing pediatric pain management, evaluating safe imaging practices, improving treatment pathways for bronchiolitis and gastroesophageal reflux disease, and supporting early detection of renal injury in children. Through active collaboration with national and international researchers, Dr. Barati continues to influence child health policies, clinical practices, and evidence-based pediatric medicine across diverse healthcare settings.
